January 6, 2016 The Transition House to Open a DOC Diversion Program Facility in Starke, Florida

St.Cloud, FL – The Transition House, in partnership with the Florida Department of Corrections, is holding a grand opening and ribbon cutting of its new DOC diversion program facility on April 1st. This new facility will open in Starke, Florida, in addition to its four othe work release programs throughout the state of Florida.

“We are very excited to be serving Bradford County and the surrounding areas with our services. We have seen the impact it has had on the areas surrounding our five other locations, and cannot wait to execute our mission here and continue watching lives transform,” says Tom Griffin, CEO of The Transition House.

The Transition House’s work release programs have been very successful in assisting individuals in transitioning from a life of criminal activity and drug abuse to one that is healthy and contributing to society, specifically the workforce. However, the new diversion program in Starke is unique because it is designed so that criminal offenders can avoid charges and a permanent record that might hinder them from attaining employment. This is the first residential TTH program that is aimed toward both males and females.

The Transition House is a local non-profit agency that provides behavioral health services to veterans and civilians. The Transition House strives to equip their residents with skills that will enable them to live a successful life after the rehabilitation program.
